SUMMARY:Junior Achievement Volunteer Orientation/Training
DESCRIPTION:Junior Achievement is a national organization that focuses on teaching elementary age students about financial literacy and independence. \nThe organization is looking for volunteers to attend a local elementary school and teach classes to the students for a day on either March 20th or the 27th.  A representative from Junior Achievement will be coming to LIU Brooklyn to conduct a Volunteer training and Orientation for students that are interested in volunteering with Junior Achievement.  This training will be held on Thursday March 5th from 11:30am-1:00pm in H313.   Service hours will be given to those who attend the training and attendees will receive a free LIU Cares T-Shirt. \nVolunteers interested in attending the Junior Achievement teaching opportunity must attend the orientation. \nFor more information contact Jacob Wright at jacob.wright@liu.edu \nTo sign-up please visit: https://fs8.formsite.com/slld/lcyrkzontf/index.html

SUMMARY:LIU Cares Letters to Veterans Project!

DESCRIPTION:Come Help LIU Promise make homework kits for kids in need.  LIU Promise will be in the Cyber Cafe on March 4th from 11am-1pm making homework kits for Children.  Stop by the Cyber Cafe to help Promise put together index cards\, pencils\, pens\,  rulers\, etc. to make a homework kit for kids in need of materials. These homework kits will be donated to a school that needs some extra supplies for their success. DESCRIPTION:LIU Cares Month is March\, come kick-off the month with a bang with LIU-Promise! The Kick-off event is an opportunity for students to host different tables of activities and fundraising opportunities.
