DESCRIPTION:We want to set up a table outside the Health science lobby\, or possibly outside of LIU\, where we could have a bunch of cakes or cookies that some were made of sugar free ingredients and others were made of regular sugar ingredients. Students will have to guess what is the sugar free item and what is the regular item; to see the difference in the two. We would sell each bundle of one sugar free dessert along with a regular dessert for a dollar\, and the money made from this event will go to a Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. SUMMARY:Toy Drive for Methodist Hospital
DESCRIPTION:This toy drive is to collect any plushiest or small games ages 3+ for our visit to sick children at Methodist Hospital. These children have a wide variety of medical cases which brings awareness to our members of both health awareness as well as how privileged they are. Members of the club then personally take the toys and bring them to the Pediatrics department of the hospital\, divide the toys up by age\, and divide into groups to follow a medical worker help introduce ourselves as well as the toy to brighten the kids’ day. Our goal with this toy drive promotes charity through giving our free time to benefit those who are less fortunate but still able to enjoy what we set aside for them. \nLast year all members were excited to greet the next child in their visit\, and were delighted upon seeing their eyes light up when they saw a toy or game they’ve always wanted. This event also promoted cultural diversity through the diffusion of multiple cultures working together through providing for a variety of cultures as well. \nClick Here to Volunteer

SUMMARY:College and Career Day at Lyons Community School
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Public Administration Society (PAS) will speak to high school juniors and seniors about their current careers and college pathway. \nPAS will speak to the 11th grade students on one day and the seniors on another day.  It will be set up like college and career panel and audience will include students\, the students mentors\, and the school princiapl.
